Whitelisting Sites
An Important Aside
Please take note that the following instructions for whitelisting sites will only work on desktop computers, PCs, or Android devices.
The current iOS on iPads and iPhones does not have any way to whitelist sites.
Chrome
There are many ways to set sites viewed on Chrome to autoplay videos with sound. We will only list the version that specifically whitelists our site on a permanent basis so that you only need to do it once, and you won't be bombarded with video ad noise on other sites you visit. If you would like to see the other methods, here's a link to instructions in Chrome .
In Chrome, go to Menu > Settings > Privacy and security.
In the "Privacy and security" section, go to Site Settings.
Expand Additional content settings at the bottom of the page and select Sound.
Click the Add button beside "Allow" and insert the web URL (https://www.amberbook.com). Click Add.
That's it. You've now whitelisted the entire Amber Book site. Your videos should now autoplay with sound.
Firefox
Here is a way to specifically whitelist our site on a permanent basis so that you only need to do it once, and you won't be bombarded with video ad noise on other sites you visit on Firefox. If you would like illustrated steps, here's a link to instructions in Firefox .
In Firefox, navigate to the website you want to whitelist (https://www.amberbook.com).
When you look at the URL address bar, you should see an icon on its left that looks like a lock. Click the icon.
Click the arrow on the dropdown menu that appears next to "Connection secure." On the following menu, select More Information at the bottom.
On the Page Info pop-up, select Permissions.
Under the "Autoplay" heading uncheck "Use Default" and select "Allow Audio and Video." You can close the pop-up, there is no "save" button.
That's it. You've now whitelisted the entire Amber Book site. Your videos should now autoplay with sound.
Safari
Here is a way in Safari to specifically whitelist our site on a permanent basis so that you only need to do it once, and you won't be bombarded with video ad noise on other sites you visit. If you would like illustrated steps, here's a link to instructions in Safari .
In Safari, navigate to the website you want to whitelist (https://www.amberbook.com).
Double-click the URL address bar and click Settings for This Website.
In the pop-up, click Auto-Play and select Allow All Auto-Play.
That's it. You've now whitelisted the entire Amber Book site. Your videos should now autoplay with sound.
