Matt Young, AIA, is an experienced member of our content development team. He is a practicing, licensed architect who has worked on both large and small projects on the east coast, west coast, and a few places in between. Following the advice of Amber Book creator Michael Ermann, he scheduled all six ARE 5.0 exams over the course of eight days and passed them all. Matt is available to support you by answering questions about course content, exam taking strategies, or discuss the licensure process in general.
Michael Ermann, AIA, is a licensed architect and tenured full professor in Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture + Design, where he’s taught design studio, environmental building systems, materials & methods of construction, and architectural acoustics since 2001. Oh, and he’s also the creator of Amber Book.
Ralph Hale, Assoc. AIA, has spent nearly a decade developing expertise in all things ARE. Having completed all six divisions of the exam, he took an experimental approach—testing both in-person and remotely, studying selectively, and exploring different scheduling intervals between tests. A man of many talents and tales, Ralph has a particular passion for materials, site, and systems topics. He also led the development of Amber Book California Supplemental Exam for California licensure candidates.
